Learning Spanish abroad in Matagalpa, Nicaragua: It is one of the oldest language immersion offered in the northern region of Nicaragua.
Matagalpa is one of the largest cities in the north of Nicaragua. During the 1980s’, Matagalpa saw one of the fiercest combats between Sandinistas and Contras (US financed guerrilla). Names of Matagalpa neighboring territories like El Cuá, Mulukuku and Waslala still reminds people living in Managua and around it of one of the saddest episode in Nicaraguan history, when Sandinistas and Contras engaged in heavy fights for several years resulting in thousands of casualties for both sides. Matagalpa is strategically located in the heart of Nicaragua, just a few kilometers away from the Pan American Highway that connects Honduras and Nicaragua. And it is on the way of the road that connects Managua with the Caribbean coast, the east-northern city of Bilwi, also known as Puerto Cabezas.

But Matagalpa is also known for its weather and coffee. Matagalpa has a cool mild weather pretty much half of the year. Temperatures are higher during March through May. Matagalpa is composed by numerous mountainous and is one of the vast territories of Nicaragua. The quality of coffee products from Matagalpa is considered of premium quality at a worldwide scale.

Located on the northern region of Nicaragua, Matagalpa is a great location to study Spanish. This city is a great base for travel to other places in Nicaragua; like inside Matagalpa (El Tuma, La Dalia), and to neighboring department territories Jinotega, Nueva Segovias and Madriz. Matagalpa is at a relatively 2hour-driving distance from the Nicaragua-Honduras border and similarly from Managua.

Our offices:
Our headquarters office is located in Juigalpa, the address is: from Central Park (or Central Square) 4 blocks South and 1 block East (yellow house). Direction: First reach Central Park (Parque Central) and get to the corner of the Bank (Banpro), then start walking downward and count 4 blocks (towards the zoo), once you are the fourth corner turn left and walk 1 block East. It is a yellow house. 

In Granada, Nicaragua, our office is conveniently located, closer to Granada Central Park. It is at The House of Community Movement. To reach “La Casa del Movimiento Comunal,” star on the north side of Granada Central Park and walk 1 and 1/2 block WEST, on La Libertad street, (on the left street's side, a house with steps).
For walk-in registration, our office hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Walk-in registration are always welcome but acceptance is subject to availability of space or tutors.
